What is Tang Soo Do?
Tang Soo Do is an ancient Korean Martial Art dating back more than 2000 years. Literally translated, the word "Tang" refers to the Tang Dynasty of China, which reflects the shared cultural background between China and Korea. "Soo" means hand. "Do" means way of life or Art. The "Way of the Hand of Tang."
Master Thomas Fletcher
As the Owner of Fletcher's Martial Arts, I began formal training in the Traditional Korean Art of Tang Soo Do in 1994. I recognized my passion for Martial Arts immediatly and have never strayed from its path. I enjoy teaching Tang Soo Do as it has been taught to me and has been passed down from generation to generation for more than 2000 years. We teach Martial Arts in a family-friendly environment. Tang Soo Do is the perfect activity to do together as a family. Parents and Children are in the same class learning the same material, while pushing the phisical and mental limits that each individual requires. We are a member of the World Tang Soo Do Association. All of our classes are taught by a certified Black Belt Instructors. Fletcher's Martial Arts speacializes in the teaching of Tang Soo Do and Self defense. We are dedicated to teaching the Martial Arts in a better time honored fashion to promote better health, better person, and self defense through endurance and hard work. Development of exellence in our students daily lives is our goal. Our program provides the means to improve self-esteem, confidence, self-disipline, perseverance and the "Can Do" attitude. These attributes lead to success at school, at work or in any endeavor.
